Despite a few minor glitches here and there, Virtua Fighter was a shoo-in as launch title for the Sega Saturn: fast, smooth, eternally playable and iconic to the last. Problem is: though cutting-edge in late '93, by late '94 the flat-shaded visuals seemed horrendously out of date. Not good for new hardware.
